These terms apply to work carried out by Kite House Studio and to use of this website and the client portal. Where a signed contract for a specific project says something different, the contract takes precedence.
Quotes are based on the specification supplied to us: the format, the finished runtime, the number of versions and the delivery date. A material change to any of those is re-quoted before the work is done, not billed as a surprise afterwards.
Schedules assume that material and approvals arrive on the agreed dates. Where they do not, we will tell you what it does to the delivery date as soon as we know.
You confirm that you hold the rights to the material you send us, including music, archive footage and any contributor releases. We do not clear rights on your behalf and we are not responsible for material supplied to us.
We handle client media as described on the privacy page. Retention periods are agreed per project.
Every package is checked against the agreed delivery specification and shipped with a QC report. If a package we produced is rejected by the destination for a fault on our side, we correct it at our cost.
Faults arising from the source material, from a specification supplied to us that turns out to be wrong, or from a change requested after delivery are quoted as additional work.
Portal access is provided under contract for the duration of a project. Credentials are issued to named people and are not to be shared. Tell us promptly if you think an account should be closed.
Finished packages stay available for collection for thirty days after delivery unless a longer period is agreed. The portal is not a backup service and should not be relied on as your only copy.
We treat unreleased client material as confidential by default, whether or not a separate agreement is in place. Projects are not shown in our own work pages until they are public, and not at all where the contract says otherwise.
Unless the contract says otherwise, projects are invoiced in stages against agreed milestones, with payment due thirty days from invoice. Masters are released on delivery, not held against payment.
